Dr. Luis Chavarria Garrido is the Director of the Astronomy Program for the Chilean Government’s Ministry of Science. He carried out his doctoral thesis at Harvard and postdoctoral studies in Chile, France, and Spain – but his path to his PhD was not always a smooth one!
