Astronomy can be a very visual subject. How can we teach about astronomy topics to audiences who are blind or visually impaired? How can our astronomy lessons be more inclusive to all learning styles? In this conversation with Noreen Grice of You Can Do Astronomy, Ken Quinn, Lead Tactile Graphics Evaluator for Hapticaly Speaking, and Vivian White of Astronomical Society of the Pacific, we will discuss ways to make astronomy conversations more accessible. Activities related to the Big Astronomy project will be used as examples on how to make hands-on activities accessible with inexpensive materials. The panelists will share real world examples and answer your questions.
