Dr. Luis Chavarria Garrido is the Director of the Astronomy Program for the Chilean Government’s Ministry of Science. He carried out his doctoral thesis at Harvard and postdoctoral studies in Chile, France, and Spain – but his path to his PhD was not always a smooth one! Learn about his background, what daily life is like in his job to promote policy related to astronomy in Chile, and a little about what he likes to do outside of his professional work.
